DESIGNER CON 2015
Designer Con is this weekend! This is a big deal for me! I've always wanted to go yet the last couple years things have always stood in my way. But this year I am determined! I already have our tickets (five whole dollars). I'm ready to go. If you are in the Pasadena area or anywhere near So Cal you might want to go check it out. Here are some of the details:

Okay I'm going to keep this short and simple. I was super bummed when we had to miss the Tokidoki 10 year celebration I kept posting about in LA. I know I missed out on a ton of awesome things. One of them being the gold Kittypatra. Well I got the most awesome email tonight... Look!
I'm so surprised they didn't seek out on the 7th. I'm sure they will soon! Get yours tonight if you have the email....if you don't have the email look for it tomorrow at Tokidoki.
As always Comikaze was a blast! Not sure if i mentioned this before but it is held the weekend of our wedding anniversary and I al loving this new tradition of going! It is only one year (exactly) older than our marriage! <3
It was a lot bigger this year and was separated into two different halls ,which I think worked out nicely! It seemed like everything had a place and I liked the idea of being able to go into different buildings for specific things. I loved all the work Hot Topic put into the convention.
I love that our new Halloween weekend tradition is going to be able to include going here! Such a good excuse to get dressed up! Our kiddo also enjoyed seeing all of the people dressed up. When she is a little older it will e fun to get her more involved. It is such a family friendly event I can't stress how awesome that is for us. I mean hey, they even had trick or treating and candy bags!
Anyway enough about us. Here are some photos!
Man on Man does Cheynee180 love himself some The Loyal Subjects. I'm pretty sure this was one of his favorites. We kept ending up over here. These guys are always on his christmas list.
The cosplay was really awesome. There were really fun and creative costumes. There was something for everyone. There beautiful Disney recreations all the way to kiddos in Attack on Titan cosplay!
I love that so many people got involved! Even groups getting to know each other and having a common ground because of their cosplay and interests.
There were also a ton of places to buy/order those perfect cosplay pieces you've been looking for.
Jurassic Park or world. Who cares what its called just take me there!!
Since I was 10 years old I was watching Jurassic Park multiple times in the theatre and reciting it and rewinding it over and over again on VHS... So when I saw the jeep and a couple dioramas there I got pretty excited to say the least haha
GUDETAMA! Sanrio has done it again!
We had a blast! I can't wait till next year. This one is one of my fav's... I mean Stan is the Man!!!
Mattel has always seemed to lead the way with dolls for girls. I remember my stock piles of every Barbie imaginable and collecting the ones that I couldn't take out of the box (which i'm still the same with any figures I get today). I know that they got some heat for barbies proportions and that one time there was a pre go barbie, which I guess is one way to find out where babies come from... Either way it never bothered me. I loved my Barbies and my mansion, RV, limos... all that jazz.
In more recent years we saw the rise of the Monster High dolls. Also I was an adult and still thought they were pretty cool (yes I own a couple... I'm not going to lie) Those designs were awesome to say the least. Every character had a back story and it was very well thought out. loved them! (they are still around but loosing popularity).
Well... now it seems that Mattel is going to come out with a new line of DC super hero figures. And unlike the Toymigos & their "not dolls" these actually will be dolls!!! whaaaaat?! Yep they are doing a line of ALL females.
The issue with female characters is very interesting. There have never been more than usually one female in a line that comes out for Hasbro or Mattel...but these "figures" are usually meant for the boys out there not girls. They have always said that there is not enough of a market for them... Well maybe not always if it is boys playing with them. So us ladies would usually get a super hero if Barbie decided to dress up like Bat Girl or Cat Woman...
This new line will be awesome. We will finally get inspirational female super heroes who were, what do you know, designed by WOMEN?! Who'd have thought. This means that they are a little less... hummm...whats a good word.... revealing.
Check out the pics from Mattel. I love the way they look! They still have a little bit of that Barbie look, which being a kid in the 80's I can't disagree with. Maybe the moms that helped design them are my age...haha
You can see below an example of thee new Wonder Woman next to a traditional version of her... What do you think?
If you are in the LA area and love Tokidoki as much as I do
